Students expect a consistent grading process, such as outlined in our Promotion Policy.
Once you count the number of correct answers, you get the percentage to assign a grade.
Goal setting is a good skill to learn. Here are good charts for K-8th grade and high school students to use. Parents can track progress with a parent goal chart too.
You can assign grades for school work where you cannot get an average, such as work that does not have a numbered problems like art or music.
